SPAM and other things
9 January 2009Hello blog world,
It’s been a busy, but good, week. The lads finished swimming lessons today (yay!). I’m definitely over going to the pool EVERY day. Angus passed, Geordie didn’t (but was very close) and as they have swimming lessons starting on the second day of school – I think he should be right to pass next time around.
I’ve been having a giggle to myself this week. I ordered some new anti virus software a week or so ago. It has “parental control” on the internet, and I was chuckling away to myself as my blog, and my friend Donna’s blog were being blocked. Mine was because of “dating”!! WHAT THE?? Isn’t this blog about Being Single – ha ha. I can’t recall why Donna’s was being blocked, but I think it might have been the same – and hers is mostly scrapbooking/art based. At least now I’ve managed to get rid of the parental blocking. I think I’m safe enough by myself on the internet.
SPAM is definitely not fun though. Unfortunately the rotters have managed to get my email address, and I’ve been receiving lots of gross spam messages, seemingly from my own address, so of course the spam filter doesn’t pick it up. Just having to read the subject lines is bad enough, without seeing what is in the message. Yuck. Don’t people have better things to do with their time? As a result, I’ve changed my email address, but have to keep the old one going for a while, just so I can remember all the groups and things I have to change over to the new email addy. Sigh. The joys of computers!
I received the beads for my bracelets yesterday, and am so happy with them. I’ll take some photos in the next day or so to share….
Well must away. Remember those PILES of books I wrote about the other day? Well, I’m almost to the point where I can list them on the Homeschooling Resources Board, and hopefully send them all off to new homes. Any left behind will be donated to the nearest Thrift Shop.
Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by.
F xx
Oooh Yona – any book sI can have a gander at before you put them up on the board? Magic Schoolbus etc? X Don
Don’t worry, this is not a spam message. Just a sincere wish for you to have a great year ahead. I hate spams too, I’m having second thoughts at times whether or not to go public, especially my emails. Spam Control, yeah, that’s what we all need these days. And did I mention the pop ups??? We all need adware/spyware removal.. phew..
Wait! Where am I going from here?? sorry.. way out of topic..
Take care now, Happy blogging!
