Using Photoshop

with one comment

For a long time I’ve wanted to buy Photoshop software, but it’s one of those things that is never a “necessity” so I’ve made do with free software like Irfanview for “playing” with my photos (which mostly means resizing them for putting on my blog or emailing to family).

Last week I came across a free online class which was being offered by Jessica Sprague.  I decided to sign up for it, and I’m using the free download from Photoshop which gives you a one month trial.

Here’s what I created from the first class:-

Geordie-and-Fat-Cheeks-smal

This class was learning to use Frames and Wordart.  What do you think?  I had fun, and I can see this is something I’d like to experiment with a bit more for my new you-beaut scrapbooking book (which I’m yet to start BTW).

It’s always fun to learn new things.  I’d better start saving my pennies now to buy Photoshop software!

This is F-u-n-n-y!

I received this as an email to a group I’m a member of for my business.  I laughed and laughed, so thought I would share it here.  I’ll keep it all in mind should I ever decided to go for Husband 2.0!  :-)

Installation procedure for HUSBAND 1.0 system

Dear Tech Support,

Last year, I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the romantic word, flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as  Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.  What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate

DEAR DESPERATE,

Keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme. html, try to download Tears 6.2, and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If those applications work as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Passing wind and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend  Cooking 3.0 and   Hot Dressing 7.7.

Your Support Team

We are enjoying the school holidays here.  I even managed to SLEEP IN this morning – such bliss!

Angus has been saving his pocket money (and recent birthday money) and today bought a Nintendo DS Lite.  Except now he’s having second thoughts and saying that he didn’t really want to spend the money (we have been to the shop about 10 times in the last few months and he can never commit).  Do you have children like that?  I’m at a loss to know how to deal with it.  He should be really excited and happy that he’s finally got a DS, but instead he’s in tears and saying “I don’t know … you made me buy it” (and perhaps I did because I’m SICK of visiting the shop and him never making the commitment).  Ahhhh, the joys of parenting!  :-(

Anyway, hope you are having a good week.  I’m off to tidy the house up a little….

Thanks for stopping by,

F x
