BELLA-ISMS
Well I haven’t had a chance to download photos from the zoo, or take a picture of my scarf knitting (yet!) but just had to share a few funny moments from my day with Bella today.
We went into town to get some groceries and Bella asked if we could go to the Toy Shop because she had her eye on some “Moon Sand Ponies”. I had absolutely NO idea what she was talking about, but we did go to the Toy Shop and I think it was the quickest visit we’ve ever had. She knew exactly what she wanted and where it was – so I paid the man the money and we high tailed it out of there. Moon Sand is sort of like play dough – except it’s sand and it sticks together – so you pack it into a mould quite tightly (in Bella’s case – ponies) then turn the mould over and hey presto – you have a little pony to play with – providing you are v*e*r*y careful!
She had good fun with it this afternoon and we only ended up with a small quantity of moon sand on the floor. Most of it thankfully stayed on the play mat or the newspaper on the table which we could then pick up and pour back into her container.
Anyway, I’m digressing (again). TWO funny comments from little Miss today had me rolling around clutching my stomach from laughing so much.
The first was her looking at my knitting and saying “Mum can you teach me to knit. I REALLY like these knitting pins”. I giggled away and then said “They’re knitting needles“. Actually we got a great pack of plastic needles from Coles this arvo for $1 – for I think 6 different sizes. A bargain. Both of the boys want to learn now – so I’ve promised that Sunday afternoon will be our knitting bee time. Watch this space!
The second funny moment happened while we were in the changing rooms in Target. I was trying on a really gorgeous coat, bright red in colour, and kind of funky. I liked it, but in the end didn’t get it. However as I was looking at it in the mirror and asking Bella what she thought, she said “It’s nice Mum, but it will look better when you brush your hair”. WHAT? I just cracked up. She makes me laugh so much. We had a lovely cruisy day together, pottering around the shops and at home.
I cooked corned beef for dinner tonight – and Geordie actually ate some! Those who know the child reasonably well know that he is THE fussiest eater on the face of the planet. Seriously! Any way, I’ve decided that I’m sick of always eating “kid fare” so at least one night a week I’m cooking something that I like and enjoy and he’s just going to have to lump it. Angus and Bella loved the corned beef, and we had corn on the cob as well. “Would you like to try some Geordie”? “No – it’s too sweet”! WHAT? Seriously – that was his reply!
Back soon with the promised pics….
Thanks for dropping by.
