You have a Canon 1000D, right? You need to press the button to the left of your “set” button, the one with what looks like a few bits of paper and a clock with the hand pointing to about 5 to 12.

The bits of paper are “single shooting” then if you use your right arrow to go across to the clock thingy – that’s your self-timer/remote control mode (if it’s the same as mine which is an EOS 450D). Press set to select the self-timer, then when you press your shutter the camera will start beeping, and the beeps will get closer together just before the camera takes the shot. Voila – you now know how to use your timer.

As to Angus and modelling, I seriously did think about it when he was around 2.5 years of age. We had the most gorgeous photos taken of him, and I half-pie considered enrolling him with a modelling agency. However, the thought of Angus on any kind of photographic shoot being told to sit still, look this way, smile, don’t smile … etc. was enough of a reality check to make me think again! He was never the most placid child, shall we say! Also, I wasn’t sure about the whole “modelling/cashing in on an image thing” so I left it alone.

If I remember, I will dig out the photos of him as a little guy and scan them to put on the blog. He was absolutely beautiful (but that could be the bias creeping in again!).

I haven’t worked out the timer on my camera yet, um, being a generally technically challenge person and all, it may take me a while to work up to that. (Trying to deal with my tech-savvy-envy while typing )

Have you ever thought about letting your Angus try modeling? If I had a boy, I’d buy whatever your Angus was modeling in the hopes that my child would look that sunny and charming Seriously. He looks like he was born to be in front of a camera.

Funny you say that about Angus looking like he’s going to break into a laugh about something. He’s pretty much always like that, always has been. In every single photo I have of him as a small person – he’s full on laughing. Not just smiling – laughing! Funny boy.
